Microsoft SQL Server Express – free of charge, up to 10 GB per database (network mode only)
8 GB of RAM, 16 GB recommended; 20 GB of free disk space

Download integrity

Every version ships with a file of SHA-256 checksums. Compare it with the downloaded file before installing.

Calculate the checksum on Windows:

Installation

The server is set up once; every further workstation is connected in about five minutes.
